Vol. 337 No. 5

Written Answers. - Unapproved Roads Offences.

420.

asked the Minister for Finance the action taken for offences of a non-commercial nature in each of the past three years in each Border county in respect of the unauthorised use of unapproved roads; and the number of seizures of a non-commercial nature in each county.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that records are not maintained in such a manner as would enable the required information to be given.

However, offences in respect of the unauthorised use of unapproved roads in the vicinity of the land frontier, where merchandise is not being transported and fraud is not suspected, are normally treated as minor offences and no seizure action is taken.
