It is not clear from the question whether the payment of £2,000 to which the Deputy refers is a payment in refund of tax.
I have, however, been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that, from the limited information supplied, they are unable to trace the taxpayer in their records. If the name of the tax office, which deals with his tax affairs, and the appropriate serial number are supplied, the matter will be further examined.
