asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason for the delay in installing a telephone for a person (details supplied) in Navan, County Meath.

It has not been possible to trace an application on behalf of the person named. If the Deputy will furnish additional information, e.g. when and where the application was made, a further effort will be made to trace it.

469.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, in view of the facts of the case of a person (details supplied) in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, he will grant the applicant priority for a telephone, and when a telephone will be installed.

Service will be provided as soon as it is possible to do so but it is unlikely that the necessary cabling will be completed for about a year.

470.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be restored for a person (details supplied) in Finglas, Dublin 11, as her telephone has been out of order for the past seven weeks and the telephone is required urgently to keep in touch with the hospital where her mother is seriously ill.

Service will be restored as soon as possible but this may take a week or so because of the large number of faults on hands.

475.

Service will be restored as soon as possible but this may take a week or so because of the large number of faults on hands.

476.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dundalk, County Louth.

It is expected that the person named, who applied in February 1979, will be given service within about a year.

477.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when telephone and telex services will be restored to a person (details supplied) in Dublin city.

Telephone and telex services have been restored.

478.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the large backlog of telephone faults in the West Cork area; and the plans his Department have to repair these faults.

The backlog of faults was caused by a severe lightning storm. Additional staff have been assigned to maintenance duties and normal service will be restored later this week.

479.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reason a person (details supplied) in Rathfarnham, Dublin 16, has not been given a telephone service, although she paid £240 to his Department over six months ago.

It has not been possible so far to provide service for the person named because of exceptional pressure of engineering work in the Dublin area in recent months. It is expected that service will be provided within the next month.
