Vol. 337 No. 5

Written Answers. - Remedial Teachers.

657.

asked the Minister for Education when he intends to provide remedial teachers and special classroom facilities for problem pupils in St. Mary's senior school, Rowlagh, Clondalkin, County Dublin.

The application received from St. Mary's Senior National School, Rowlagh, Clondalkin for the appointment of a second remedial teacher will be considered in connection with the allocation of such teachers to schools in the school-year 1982-83 with due regard to the total number of applications received and the needs of the situation.

An application has also been received to have a special class for mildly mentally handicapped children attached to the school. This application is at present under examination in my Department. The question of accommodation for such a class will be considered should the need arise. There are three special classrooms, including a remedial classroom in the school.
