Vol. 337 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Transport.

280.

asked the Minister for Education when arrangements will be made to provide free school transport for pupils (details supplied) in County Donegal.

In order to establish a special school transport service there must be a sufficient number of eligible children living in a distinct locality to ensure that the average number of eligible children carried to school each day would not be less than ten.

There is not a sufficient number of eligible children living at present in the area in question to enable a special school transport service to be established under the School Transport Scheme.
