(Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education the number of full-time teachers of German employed by each VEC in the country.

In the school-year 1981-82 16 whole-time teachers employed by vocational education committees as follows were engaged in teaching German: Town of Galway, 2; Town of Sligo, 1; City of Cork, 1; City of Dublin, 5; City of Limerick, 1; City of Waterford, 2; County Donegal, 2; County Dublin, 1; County Offaly, 1.

(Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education the number of students who sat for (a) the leaving and (b) the intermediate certificate examinations in German in 1982, 1981, 1980, 1979 and 1978.

(Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education who has responsibility as chief examiner of this year's intermediate and leaving certificate examinations; and the person's academic qualifications in German.

In the interest of the preservation of the integrity of the examinations, my Department do not publish the names of the persons appointed to act as examiners at the certificate examinations.
