(Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education if he intends appointing a departmental inspector with sole responsibility for teaching German in post primary schools; and, if so, when an appointment will be made.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 441 and 443 together.
A post of post primary inspector of German was advertised on 9 December 1981. The result of the competition is not yet available. The vacancy for an inspector of German on the staff on my Department arose on 19 April 1979.
