I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that a 6,500 sq. ft. advance factory has recently been completed in Portumna under a private finance arrangement.
The IDA are actively promoting this factory, along with their six-acre site in the town, for suitable industrial projects.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy the progress being made in regard to the acquisition of an industry for the new advance factory at Dublin Road, Loughrea, County Galway.
I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that negotiations have been finalised with a US company for the setting up of a 90 job project in the 27,000 sq. ft. advance factory in Loughrea.
In addition the IDA are vigorously promoting their remaining six acres of land in the town for suitable industrial development.
