asked the Minister for Defence if he will state in respect of (1) permanent and (2) temporary posts: (a) the number of persons of all grades recruited by his Department since 10 March 1982, either to fill existing vacancies or authorised new posts; (b) the grades to which these persons were appointed and the designation of their functions; (c) the location of these appointments; and (d) the number of vacancies for which competitions have been organised, the designation of the posts in question, and the dates on which it is proposed to make the appointments.

The information sought by the Deputy is as follows:—

2. (a)Thirty eight people have been recruited by my Department to fill temporary posts since 10th March 1982.

(d) Arrangements have been made through the medium of the National Manpower Service to fill vacancies for four Tradesmen, one Caretaker and two Storemen. The appointments will be made as soon as possible.
