Vol. 337 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

714.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction the application of a person (details supplied) in County Cork for a £3,000 house loan subsidy.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for mortgage subsidy from the person named.

715.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

When the person named supplies the document requested by my Department, an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of a grant.

716.

asked the Minister for the Environment when approval will be issued for a grant for sewerage and water facilities for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Grants in respect of the provision of water and sewerage facilities were approved in this case on 9 July 1982.

717.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the balance of the grant for the Derryard/Monmore group water scheme, County Clare, will be paid to a person (details supplied); and if this grant is not being credited, the reason for withholding it.

The grants, totalling £26,720, allocated in respect of the Derryard/Doonbeg group water scheme and its extension to Monmore have been paid in full.

718.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in issuing sanction to a person (details supplied) in County Cork, who applied in September 1981 for a bathroom extension; and if he will confirm that the appropriate sanction is being issued.

A grant cannot be allowed in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the works had commenced before an inspection of the house was carried out. The applicant was so informed on 3 March 1982.

719.

asked the Minister for the Environment whether a house improvement grant is payable to a person (details supplied) in County Cork whose roof collapsed and who had to take immediate steps to repair it prior to inspection.

The person named would not be eligible for a grant because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, the work has commenced before an inspection of the house could be carried out and also because a period of ten years has not elapsed between payment of a previous grant in respect of the house and the commencement of the works.

720.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

When the person named submits the documents requested by my Department, an inspection will be arranged with a view to payment of a grant.

721.

asked the Minister for Environment the reason an inspection for a new house grant was not carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

An examination of the applicant's plans on the 6 November 1981 showed that the floor area of the new house was in excess of the maximum allowable (1,346 sq. ft.) for grant purposes. Consequently, the applicant was informed that a grant could not be paid. No amended plans have been received in my Department to enable any further action to be taken in the matter.
