Vol. 337 No. 11

Written Answers. - Multi-Channel Television.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if his Department were satisfied that the quality of television for multi-channel purposes was up to standard when a licence was being granted for the provision of this facility in Cork City; and the basis on which this judgment was made.

My Department do not prescribe any standards, minimum or otherwise, nor do they offer any assurance or guarantees in relation to the quality of UK television signals available in this country for cable television systems because of the fringe nature of the signals in question.
