Vol. 337 No. 11

Written Answers. - Sale of Land.

411.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in Castletownbere, County Cork, will be paid for land which he sold to his Department two years ago.

This land comprises a commonage which is held by the person mentioned and two other shareholders. The purchase money will be paid as soon as title has been cleared and possession obtained by my Department. In this connection some progress has been made but legal complications which have arisen in regard to some of the shares are causing a delay in closing the sale. As far as my Department are concerned, there will be no avoidable delay in completing the transaction. I should add, however, that in the meantime the landowners concerned have unrestricted use of the property.
