Vol. 337 No. 11

Written Answers. - Handicapped Person's Allowance.

495.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that the allowance payable to handicapped people by the South Eastern Health Board has been reduced by 50 per cent to £10 per week for the period when they are on holiday and out of residential care; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have made inquiries of the South Eastern Health Board concerning the matter referred to by the Deputy. I understand that the board is not aware of any such practice as that outlined.

It may be that the Deputy has a specific case in mind. If so I will gladly have the matter examined if he will supply details of the case to me.
