Financial Resolutions, 1982. - Messages from Seanad.

Seanad Éireann has passed the Sugar Manufacture (Amendment) Bill, 1982 without amendment.

Seanad Éireann has, by order, also instructed the Joint Committee on State-Sponsored Bodies to examine the affairs of Udaras na Gaeltachta. The full text of the message will be set out in the Official Report and in the Journal of Proceedings.

Tá Seanad Éireann tar éis an tOrdú seo a leanas a dhéanamh:—

(i) Go dtugann Seanad Éireann, mar gur léir do gur gá leanacht le tacaíocht a thabhairt do na Gaeltachtaí agus lena bhforbairt agus gur cás leis an phoiblíocht le gairid faoi oibriú Údarás na Gaeltachta, treoir leis seo don Chomhchoiste um Chomhlachtaí Stát-Tionscanta scrúdú a dhéanamh ar ghnóthaí Údarás na Gaeltachta mar ábhar práinne agus moltaí a dhéanamh chun feabhas a chur ar fheidhmiú Udarás na Gaeltachta.

(ii) Leasaítear leis seo mír (8) den Ordú ó Sheanad Éireann, an 1 Iúil, 1982, i ndáil leis an gComhchoiste um Chomhlachtaí Stát-Tionscanta trí na focail "faoin Ordú seo" a scriosadh.

Seanad Éireann has made the following Order:—

(i) That Seanad Éireann, recognising the need for continued support and development of the Gaeltachts and concerned with recent publicity about the operation of Údarás na Gaeltachta, hereby instructs the Joint Committee on State-Sponsored Bodies to examine the affairs of Údarás na Gaeltachta as a matter of urgency and make recommendations for the better functioning of Údarás na Gaeltachta.

(ii) Paragraph (8) of the Order of Seanad Éireann of 1 July, 1982, in relation to the Joint Committee of State-Sponsored Bodies, is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "under this Order".
