Vol. 338 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tramore New Garda Station.

8.

asked the Minister for Finance the up-to-date position regarding the provision of a new Garda station at Tramore, County Waterford.

(Clare): As the Deputy was informed in response to a question on 1 April 1982, the acquisition of a site for the new Garda station at Tramore is in hands. It had been hoped that the acquisition would have been completed by now but the Commissioners of Public Works are still waiting for the site to be handed over to them.

Why has there been such a lengthy delay?

(Clare): We are awaiting a deed of conveyance from the solicitors for the town commissioners. It would be helpful if the Deputy could use his influence in this matter. We wrote to them recently to try to get this completed.

I imagine the Minister's influence would be greater than mine. I am not a member——

(Clare): I appreciate that. We wrote to them recently.
