Vol. 338 No. 2

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

87.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who lives alone and who is anxiously waiting for service.

Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work can be completed for about a year.

88.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who is 77 years of age and who lives alone; and if, in view of the fact that this person suffers from a serious heart condition and that she paid the connection fee in January 1982, he will confirm that service will now be provided.

When the person named was invited to sign an agreement and make advance payments it was expected that service would be provided within about three months. Regrettably connection has been delayed because of unforeseen difficulties. It is expected that the service will be connected within about a month.

92.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be restored for persons (details supplied) in Dublin 12 as they are an elderly couple who because of their disability are urgently in need of service.

Service will be restored within the next few days.
