Vol. 338 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - School Transport.

339.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the failure of his Department to provide transport for a person (details supplied) in County Louth in order that he may attend St. Paul's special school, Beaumont.

Dublin South-East): The child in question attends a special school in Dublin on a residential basis, returning home for weekends. The Department has offered to meet the cost of transport for the child on a public service. This offer was not taken up. A special service operates at weekends as between Dublin and the child's home area but there is no spare accommodation on this service at present.
