Vol. 338 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Beet Pulp.

357.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will make a statement on the sale of beet pulp from the Tuam sugar factory after the 1982 campaign relating to price per ton, Government subsidy; and if sugar beet growers will have preference in buying the pulp.

Commercial issues relating to the sale of beet pulp, including the preference to be accorded to beet growers, fall to be determined directly between the Sugar Company and its growers. I have no direct responsibility therefor.

There is no element of Government subsidy involved in such transactions.
