Vol. 338 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Libyan Oil Supply.

139.

asked the Minister for Industry and Energy if he will make a statement on the agreement reached with the Libyan Government regarding the supply of oil to Ireland; and when the agreement will come into effect.

There has been no agreement made with Libya for the supply of oil to this country although I understand possibilities in this regard were discussed in general terms, and without any commitment by either side, during the visit by the Minister for Agriculture to Libya in May of this year.
