Vol. 338 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Dunmore East Harbour.

214.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the reason for the delay in his Department taking over Dunmore East Harbour; and the reason the canteen facilities provided there are not being fully utilised.

A number of legal matters relating to properties, easements and encumbrances and administrative details will have to be finalised and the boundaries of the fishery harbour centre will have to be settled before the transfer of Dunmore East Harbour from the Office of Public Works to my Department can be arranged.

Dunmore East is a State harbour and the facilities for fishermen there will be the same whether the harbour is managed by the Office of Public Works or by my Department. The use of the canteen facilities at Dunmore East Harbour is a matter for the Office of public Works who are the present harbour authority.
