Vol. 338 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Irish Citizens' Voting Rights in Britain.

4.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if it is his intention to meet his British counterpart to discuss the reported threat to the right to vote by Irish citizens in that country.

Voting arrangements in Great Britain are a matter for the British authorities. I will continue to avail of opportunities which arise to discuss matters affecting relations between our two countries with the British Foreign Secretary. No bilateral meeting is planned at present but should such an opportunity arise the Deputy may be assured that all matters of mutual interest will be reviewed. The Government are always sensitive to the needs of the Irish community in Britain.
