asked the Minister for Education when his Department will provide the finance for a new national school at Gort, County Galway.

asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to the consideration of tender documents for Gort national school, County Galway; and when work on this project will commence.

Dublin South-East): I propose to take Questions Nos. 245 and 246 together, Tenders for the erection of the proposed new national school at Gort, County Galway, are under consideration by the Commissioners of Public Works. It is understood from the Commissioners that they expect to be in a position shortly to make a recommendation to my Department concerning the placing of a contract. It is not possible to say at this stage when building work will commence.
