Vol. 339 No. 4

Written Answers. - Group Water Scheme Electrification.

355.

asked the Minister for the Environment if electrifying a group water scheme will benefit from the 80 per cent EEC subsidy under the western package.

The capital cost of providing an electricity supply to a group water scheme may be included in the total cost of the scheme for the purpose of calculating State grants under the Western Package. Such grants normally cover 80% of the cost, subject to maximum grants of £600 per house and £400 per potential farm supply. Of the relevant grant expenditure 50% is recoupable from the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund (F.E.O.G.A.).

Question No. 356 withdrawn.
