Vol. 339 No. 4

Written Answers. - Kerry Driving Test Applications.

420.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry was not granted a driving test even though he applied in 1978, 1980 and 1981; and the reason representations made by Deputy Begley were not acknowledged even though these representations included photostats of cheques which were cashed by his Department.

An early appointment for a test has now been made in this case on the basis of an application received in my Department on 17 December 1982. Only one previous application had been made, on 27 January 1979, but a test could not be arranged because of failure to obtain clarification from the applicant as to the class of vehicle in which he wished to undergo the test. On 19 November 1982, my Department sent a reply to the Deputy to representations made by him on this case last October.
