asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction without delay the construction of a new library at Ballyroan, Rathfarnham, Dublin so that the necessary work may commence on building the library in accordance with the tender accepted by Dublin County Council.

The county council submitted revised plans for this scheme in November 1982 and these have recently been approved by my Department. A loan application for the revised scheme has not yet been submitted. When the application is received it will be considered in conjuction with other applications on hand for capital for library development.
