461.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the name, position, rank, terms and conditions of appointment and salaries of any non-established civil servants appointed by him or his Minister of State on a full-time or part-time basis up to 26th January, 1983; and if they are on secondment, the agencies or bodies from which they were seconded.

One such person has been appointed by my Minister of State.

The details are as follows:

Department of Foreign Affairs

Name

Position

Rank, Terms and Conditions of Appointment

Salary

Nora O'Mahony

Personal Secretary to Minister of State

Temporary and Unestablished Personal Secretary to the Minister of State (transferred from the Houses of the Oireachtas where she was employed as Secretarial Assistant to the Minister of State prior to his appointment).

£92.20pper week

The foregoing appointment will be co-terminus with the term in office of the present Administration. In the previous Administration there was no Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs. No unestablished appointment was made in the office of the former Minister for Foreign Affairs. This office did, however, include one officer seconded from another Department who had previously been appointed in the public interest.

462.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if any agencies, companies or individuals of a consultancy, advisory or publicity nature have been appointed by him or his Minister of State up to 26 January 1983; and if so, if he will give full details of such appointments in respect of remuneration etc.

No agencies, companies or individuals of a consultancy advisory or publicity nature have been appointed by me or my Minister of State since taking office.
