asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement on the proposed new primary school at Foxford, County Mayo, in view of the situation that pertains at the existing schools.

It is proposed to provide a new national school at Foxford, County Mayo, to replace the existing school buildings. The chairman will be requested at an early date to offer a site for the new school and the preparations of plans will be initiated when a suitable site has been offered.

asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement on the position regarding the extra accommodation required at Currabaggin national school, Knockmore, Ballina, County Mayo.

Sketch-plans for the proposed extension to Currabaggin national school, County Mayo, have been approved and a grant towards the cost will be sanctioned at an early date. The further planning arrangements are a matter for the Commissioners of Public Works.

asked the Minister for Education if she is aware of the over-crowding at Rehins national school, Ballina, County Mayo; when she will sanction the additional accommodation there; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Sketch-plans for the proposed extension to Rehins national school, County Mayo, were approved in June 1982, and a grant has been sanctioned towards the cost. The further planning arrangements are a matter for the Commissioners of Public Works and I understand from them that working drawings are being prepared.

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position regarding the planning for an extension to St. Muiredach's College, Ballina, County Mayo; and when work will start on the extension.

My Department await from the school manager the submission of appropriate documentation concerning the outline sketch for a scheme of extension to St. Muiredach's College, Ballina, County Mayo. At this early stage of planning, it is not possible to say when construction work will be commenced.

asked the Minister for Education if she is aware of the deplorable condition of Calleens national school, Ballina, County Mayo; the up-to-date position of the plans to replace the old school; and when work will start on the new school.

I understand from the Commissioners of Public Works that sketch-plans for the proposed new school at Calleens, County Mayo, are under examination in their office. The Commissioners will forward the plans to my Department as soon as possible for examination from an educational viewpoint. It is not possible to state when building work may commence.

asked the Minister for Education if she is aware of the very overcrowded condition of Carn national school, County Mayo, and if immediate sanction will be given to allow tenders to be sought for the construction of extra accommodation at the school according to the drawings with her Department.

As stated in the official letter of 4 February, 1983 to the Deputy concerning Carn National School, County Mayo, the Commissioners of Public Works are making the necessary arrangements for the invitation of tenders.
