Arrangements are being made for the payment of a house improvement grant of £600 in this case. The question of the applicant's entitlement to a solid fuel grant is being investigated.

203.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a decision on an application for a reconstruction grant will be made for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

A grant for the provision of an extra bedroom cannot be approved in this case because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, a reconstruction grant was paid in respect of this house within the past five years. The applicant was so informed.

204.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant and a mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Payment of the mortgage subsidy will not be made to the person named if eligible until the grant is paid and at least six months have elapsed from the date of execution of the mortgage deed. An inspection will be carried out shortly.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the first instalment of a housing subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5 who occupied his house in June 1982.

An incomplete application for mortgage subsidy in respect of a previously occupied house was received in this case on 9 December 1982. This has been returned to the applicant for completion and certification by the local authority. When it is returned to my Department, his elegibility for the subsidy will be determined. The first instalment of the subsidy may not be paid until after the applicant has made the loan repayments in respect of the first 12 months of the loan.
