Vol. 340 No. 1

Written Answers. - Sligo Hospital Extension.

327.

asked the Minister for Health when the extension to Sligo General Hospital will commence in order to relieve overcrowding in the case of patients and to improve working facilities in the case of staff.

Detailed plans for the development of Sligo General Hospital have been submitted to my Department but I am not in a position to say when the development work can go ahead.

I am at present reviewing the capital allocation of my Department taking account of the contractual commitments entered into, the level of resource available to me, and the priorities of the health agencies. Realistically, in the present economic circumstances, I cannot see that the project has any chance of starting in 1983 or indeed 1984.
