Vol. 340 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) Centre for Handicapped Children.

222.

asked the Minister for Health if he has any plans to provide a training centre for handicapped children in the Tallaght area of County Dublin.

There are no plans before me for the provision of a training centre for handicapped children in the Tallaght area.

School services for mentally handicapped children from Tallaght are provided at St. Joseph's special national school, Greenhills Road, Tallaght, and through the services organised by the Order of St. John of God and by St. Michael's House. The new mental handicap centre at Cheeverstown House, Templeogue, which will be completed this year will also provide residential and day facilities for mentally handicapped children from the Tallaght area.

Services for physically handicapped children from Tallaght are provided at Scoil Mhochua, Clondalkin.
