Vol. 340 No. 10

Written Answers. - Clare Lands Payment.

456.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry when money which is outstanding in respect of a share of lands will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

The agreement reached with the person mentioned for his share of the commonage was dependent on the acquisition by my Department of the remaining shares. Despite prolonged negotiations affecting, in particular, two shareholders, an acceptable arrangement, involving a partition of the commonage, emerged only recently. The matter will be pushed ahead as quickly as possible and, subject to completion of the necessary procedural and legal aspects, there will be no avoidable delay in payment of the purchase money.
