Vol. 340 No. 10

Written Answers. - Transfer of Departmental Employees.

527.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether he will sanction an early transfer to Portlaoise or Portarlington for a person (detail supplied) in County Limerick who is an employee of his Department; and how long it will be before such a transfer will be arranged.

All applications from employees of my Department for transfer to Government offices outside Dublin are dealt with in accordance with the terms of an agreement made centrally with the staff side under the civil service conciliation and arbitration scheme. My Department have no office in Portlaoise or Portarlington to which the person concerned could be transferred and in accordance with the agreement her application for transfer was sent to other Departments as requested by her. I am unable to state whether her application will be successful.

528.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether he will sanction an early transfer to Limerick or the Limerick area for a person (details supplied) from County Limerick in view of her domestic circumstances and when the transfer will take place.

All applications from employees of my Department for transfer to Government offices outside Dublin are dealt with in accordance with the terms of an agreement made centrally with the staff side under the civil service conciliation and arbitration scheme. There is no vacancy in my Department's offices in Limerick or the Limerick area at present and there are many other persons who under the agreement have precedence for transfer there before the person concerned. I am unable therefore to state at this stage whether her application for transfer will be successful.
