The herds of the persons named were treated as a single unit for headage purposes because the cattle in them were intermixing. Payment of the maximum amount of £872 payable for cattle headage grants under the 1981 disadvantaged areas scheme was made, therefore, on 23 June 1982 to the first person named and no further payment falls to be made under that year's scheme. The maximum amount payable for cattle headage grants under the 1982 disadvantaged areas scheme will be made jointly to both persons named in the very near future.

He will be paid grants under the 1982 cattle headage scheme in the disadvantaged areas and under the scheme of assistance for the expansion of the cattle breeding herd shortly. He is also eligible for payment of 1982 EEC suckler cow premium and will be paid this when the six-months retention period expires for all applicants in April 1983.
