Vol. 341 No. 6

Written Answers . - Westmeath New Post Office .

808.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the proposals, if any, that have been mooted for a post office (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter as there is considerable local disquiet about it.

: An examination of delivery arrangements at the office concerned indicates that it is possible to absorb a vacant part-time post at the office in the existing delivery arrangements which operate from Mullingar head post office. The proposed arrangements will result in a substantial reduction in delivery costs and in somewhat earlier delivery times in the area. Counter services at the office are not affected.
