asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a 1982 cattle headage grant and a cow beef grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

: The person named has been paid his 1982 beef cow grants under the disadvantaged areas schemes already. He will be paid his 1982 EEC suckler cow premium as soon as the batch which includes his payment is processed.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange for the immediate payment of 1982 cattle headage grants to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

: The person named has been paid this grant already.

1099.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the present position regarding an application for a farm modernisation scheme grant for a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

: An application for a supplementary plan under the farm modernisation scheme was recently received by ACOT. It is understood that the only investment contemplated is on farm buildings. As announced in the budget, grants under the scheme for buildings and fixed assets have been suspended until later in the year. ACOT may proceed with the processing of the application but grant aid will not be made available for buildings and fixed assets for the duration of the suspension.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a cattle headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

: The person named has been paid this grant already.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange for the immediate payment of cattle headage grants to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

: The person named declared that he farmed 8 acres in his 1982 cattle headage application and as an applicant cannot be paid more than £18 per acre the grant paid on 20 December 1982 was restricted to £144.00. However, as he has since produced evidence that he owns a further three acres, he will be paid the balance of his grant shortly.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange to pay a grant under the farm modernisation scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

: An approval for a farm building project issued only recently. The grant will be paid on satisfactory completion of the work and provided that the other conditions of the scheme have been complied with.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange to pay a grant under the farm modernisation scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

: As the applicant is a development farmer payment cannot be made until the necessary evidence of keeping farm accounts is furnished.

1104.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange to pay a water installation grant under the farm modernisation scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

: A farm plan providing for the installation of a water supply under the Farm Modernisation Scheme was received from ACOT on 14 February 1983.

As announced in the budget, grants under the Farm Modernisation Scheme for buildings and fixed assets have been suspended until later in the year. Accordingly, no further action is being taken regarding the water supply installation in question.
