asked the Minister for the Environment whether he has approved the application by Galway County Council for the provision of a pelican type pedestrian crossing south of the convent entrance at Oranmore, County Galway; and whether financial provision will be made for the erection of this crossing in 1983.

: The provision of pedestrian traffic signals at this location is a matter for the road authority, Galway County Council. It is open to the authority to finance the cost of the work from its own resources or from the block grant allocated annually by my Department.
