: Details of the numbers of deaths and injuries resulting from road accidents are published annually by An Foras Forbartha in the Report entitled "Road Accident Facts". The latest of these reports, "Road Accident Facts 1981", shows that the number of persons killed in road accidents in each year since 1978 was as follows: 1978, 628; 1979, 614; 1980, 564; 1981, 572. Provisional figures for 1982 indicate that 515 persons were killed in road accidents in that year.
