asked the Minister for the Environment when a home improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

: The grant approved in this case was in respect of the provision of an extra bedroom to relieve overcrowding. Following receipt of a claim for payment from the applicant, the Department's inspector reported that the new room was not being used as proposed and accordingly the application has been refused.

The applicant has been so informed.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for a new house grant inspection for a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

: There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant inspection will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

: An early inspection will be carried out in this case with a view to payment of the grant.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant inspection will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in Cork.

: Arrangements have been made for an early inspection in this case with a view to payment of the grant. The inspection was held up by an industrial relations problem relating to a vacancy in the inspectorate staff which came within the scope of current restrictions on the filling of vacant posts.
