asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5 applied for a telephone service; the reason for the delay in providing service; and when service will be provided.

: It is regretted that it has not been possible to provide telephone service for the person named, who made application in February 1980, because of the volume of engineering work on hands and requiring attention in the 01 area.

It is expected that service will be provided within about a year.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide a telephone service for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin who applied for service in 1978; and if he is aware that she lives alone, is in very bad health and has had her home broken into on several occasions.

: Service will be provided as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work can be completed before the latter part of this year.

: It is expected that service will be provided within about a month.

: The accounts were checked and found to be correct.
