Vol. 341 No. 7

Written Answers . - Social Welfare Benefits .

651.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if an increase in non-contributory old age pension will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

: Following a reinvestigation of the old age pension entitlement of the person concerned it was decided by the local pension committee on 16 February 1983 that he was only entitled to a pension at the rate of £26.45 a week from 14 January 1983. The assessment of his means, consisting of half the weekly value of capital and the weekly letting value of his wife's share of a holding, entitles him to pension at this rate. The pensioner has not so far appealed against this decision.
