133.

Mr. Leonard

asked the Minister for Finance if the amount of money allocated under EEC Directive 79/197 for the drainage of the Finn/Lackey and Ulster Blackwater catchments will be reduced by the recent devaluation of the Irish punt; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

134.

Mr. Leonard

asked the Minister for Finance if the recent devaluation of the Irish punt will affect the level of EEC FEOGA aid for the drainage of the Ulster Blackwater and Finn/Lackey catchment areas which was approved in 1979.

: I propose to take Questions Nos. 133 and 134 together.

The recent realignment of the Irish pound within the European Monetary System will not result in any reduction of the moneys allocated for the cross-Border drainage programme under Directive No. 79/197 EEC.
