Vol. 343 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

788.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a farm development grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

There is no grant outstanding in this case under the farm modernisation scheme. An approval under the western drainage scheme issued on 30 October 1980. The local farm development service office has not yet been notified that the work has been finalised. When notification is received an inspection will be carried out with a view to certification of the work for payment of the grant. The grant is payable only if the work is completed, and the farm development service notified to that effect, by 30 June 1983.

789.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when payments under the rescue package interest subsidy scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The administration of the reduced interest scheme for farmers in severe financial difficulty is wholly a matter for the associated banks and the ACC. The individual concerned should address his inquiries direct to the lending agency in question.

A grant of £4,500 will be paid shortly together with a number of other grants certified about the same time.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the payments made to date to farmers under the rescue package interest subsidy scheme.

The administration of the reduced interest scheme for farmers in severe financial difficulty is wholly a matter for the associated banks and the ACC. I understand that the number of farmers who have been credited with subsidies to date is about 2,200.
