Community Youth Training Programme:

Under AnCO's Community Youth Training Programme four projects have been approved since December 1982 but have not yet commenced. The projects are as follows: St. Brendan's GAA Park Development Committee — to complete the remaining work on a new handball alley; Galway County Association for Mentally Handicapped Children — the painting and decorating of two old classrooms; Kilcoona Development Association — the building of a new community centre; Skehana Community Council — the conversion of an old two-roomed school into community centre.

In addition, there are nine community youth training projects at present under way.

Workshop for Socially Disadvantaged:

AnCO has recently approved a workshop for the training and education of young travelling people to be located in Tuam. The workshop will be run in conjunction with the Department of Education.

This workshop is additional to the existing three workshops in County Galway for travelling people and the workshop for young offenders in Ballinasloe.
