Vol. 343 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Wexford Doctor.

684.

asked the Minister for Health if he will allow as a matter of urgency a doctor (details supplied) in County Wexford to participate in the medical card scheme as he is in the area for four years and is qualified for ten years.

The present agreement between my Department and the medical organisations provide that a doctor who has completed five years continuous service in full-time general practice at a particular centre may apply for a general medical service contract at that centre. It is not, therefore, possible for the South-Eastern Health Board to offer a contract now to the doctor in question.
