Vol. 343 No. 7

Written Answers. - Major Accident Plan.

664.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state in the light of the Stardust Tribunal Report the steps which have been taken to ensure the smooth activation of the major accident plan of his Department, should the need ever arise.

Each of the eight health boards has a major accident plan for its area, which sets out clear and precise procedures to be followed in activating the plan and the subsequent actions to be taken by the various individuals and agencies involved. Arising from the Tribunal Report on the fire at the Stardust all persons and agencies concerned with the major accident plan for Dublin were contacted and reminded of the absolute necessity of following rigidly the procedures as set out in the plan in the event of it having to be activated again.
