Vol. 343 No. 7

Written Answers. - Cabra (Dublin) School Finances

714.

asked the Minister for Education if she will clear the present debts of Saint Catherine's School, Dominican Convent, Cabra, Dublin, which amount to £17,957.54 thereby recognising the major contribution made by the fund-raising committee on behalf of the school amounting to £40,000 in the last two years; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

asked the Minister for Education the assistance she will give to Saint Catherine's national school, Dominican Convent, Cabra West, Dublin 7, which caters for 720 children from the Cabra area of Dublin to deal with the existing debt of £17,957.54.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 714 and 715 together.

The amount of capitation grant payable to authorities of national schools is calculated by reference to general regulations. It is not open to me to make grants to individual schools other than in accordance with the published regulations.
