asked the Minister for Health the estimated number of cases of Alzheimers Disease in the age groups 40-50, 50-60, 60-70 and over 70 years of age.

Comprehensive statistics on the number of persons with Alzheimer's Disease are not available. The following are the numbers of persons with senile and pre-senile dementia in the stated age groups who were in the mental hospitals on 31 March 1981:
