The Minister for the Environment to conclude.
Local Government (Planning and Development) Bill, 1983: Second Stage (Resumed).
I move that the amendment in the name of Deputy Molloy be now put to the House for a vote.
No, Deputy. I will be putting the question. It is now nearly five o'clock.
This is our amendment to the motion. It should be put to the House.
I must obey the order of the House.
As the Fianna Fáil Party have succeeded in frustrating any efforts which I have made to speak this afternoon——
The Chair must take our amendment now. He must take it that the question be now put.
The Chair must take it now.
They have succeeded in frustrating any efforts which I have made to depoliticise An Bord Pleanála——
Depoliticise my hat.
On a point of order, on the main motion that the Second Stage of the Bill be taken at five o'clock, on this side of the House we have an amendment down. It may have escaped the notice of the Chair. We have a recent amendment down. We are now moving, as we are perfectly entitled to move, that the question be now put in regard to that amendment. Is the Chair going to answer me or not?
It is now five o'clock.

Since it has been decided that the words proposed to be deleted stand part of the main question, the Bill, in accordance with Standing Order 89.2 is now declared read a Second Time. Will the Minister name a date for Committee Stage?
At 3.30 p.m. on Tuesday, 5 July 1983.
Subject to agreement between the Whips?
I will not enter into the realms of speculation.
Is that agreed?
Does it matter whether we agree?
For the fourth time this week I should like, on behalf of Fianna Fáil, to ask the Government or the Chief Whip, since we have no other business for today or tomorrow and no agreement for the remainder of the session, if the House could adjourn so that we can come to some agreement to continue the business of the House in an orderly fashion, unlike what we have seen this week?
As far as I am concerned Item No. 8 is next.
It is not, Sir.
(Dún Laoghaire): The Deputy's suggestion is a worthwhile one and I should like an opportunity to meet with the Opposition Whip. Perhaps we could adjourn for 15 or 20 minutes.
