A contract for the work referred to by the Deputy has been placed on the basis of competitive tendering, tenders having been invited by press advertisement. While it would be contrary to established practice to furnish the precise information sought, I can say that a substantial number of tenders was received and that more than half of them were from firms in County Cork.
