Vol. 344 No. 9

Written Answers. - Avondale House, County Wicklow.

406.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry whether the forest and wildlife service will vacate Avondale House, County Wicklow and move into offices on the estate to enable the former home of Charles Stewart Parnell to be opened fully to the public as a museum.

A substantial section of Avondale House is already open to the public at certain times and, in fact, arrangements by my Department to extend this area and to refurbish the material on display are well advanced. It would not be possible in present circumstances to act on the Deputy's suggestion but the matter will be kept in mind.
